- 1). Click on the Windows icon at the bottom of the screen to access the Start menu. Click on "All Programs" and then click on "Accessories" when the new menu pops up. Locate the link for "System Tools" and click on it.
- 2). Click on the "Disk Defragmenter" option to open up a new menu. On this screen, you will be able to view all the components on the computer that can be defragmented. Click on the solid state drive. Before you defragment it, scan the computer to analyze the level of degradation.
- 3). Click on "Analyze Disk." After the computer analyzes the solid state drive you can click on "Defragment Disk" to begin the process. This often take a minutes to complete, but can also take hours.
