- 1). Place your DVD disk in the drive. Open AoA DVD Ripper, and click the "Load DVD" button. Select the titles you would like to copy from the DVD, and the file format to convert to. The program defaults to AVI. If the AoA DVD ripper gives you a message that your DVD is copy protected, stop and remove the DVD from the drive. It is not legal to copy your DVD.
- 2). Select the copy mode: Entire, Movie Clip or Chapters. Click the "Settings" button to change the settings of the output file type for your DVD conversion. If you live in the United States or Japan, make sure that NTSC is selected. However, if you live in Europe, you will need to select PAL as a file format.
- 3). Change the file type under "Convert To" to save your file in a different format. To burn your DVD to a VCD, you will need to select MPEG-1. To burn it to an SVCD, you'll need to select MPEG-2. To view your movie in a DivX or Xvid player, use the default AVI format. Select WMV to rip in Windows Media Video format. Or you may select Flash format. You may also select formats for iPod, AppleTV, Sony PSP, Mobile 3GP to convert your DVD files for download to your mobile device.
- 4). Select the audio track you would like to use, and whether you would like to include the subtitles. Also, choose your output directory. AoA DVD Ripper saves your files in the root directory by default. If you don't want the files there, place them in another place, such as your My Documents or My Movies folder.
- 5). Click the "Start" button to begin copying the DVD to your hard drive.
