How to Check Coax

    • 1). Connect one end of your coaxial cable to the coaxial output port on your VCR.

    • 2). Connect the other end of your coaxial cable to the coaxial port on the back of your television.

    • 3). Turn your VCR and television on. Change the television to either channel 3 or 4, depending on your VCR's channel setting. You should now see the visual signal from your VCR on the television screen.

    • 4). Insert a working VHS tape into the VCR to begin playing it. If the coaxial cable is working properly, there will be a lack of static on the television screen, and the audio will transmit clearly through the television speakers.
