BEWARE Of Who You Put Your Faith In!

Many components or aspects of being a great leader are directly related to one's ability to function more effectively or competently as an individual.
Whether in our personal lives, or in our positions of leadership, we will confront or face individuals on a somewhat regular basis who offer advice or suggestions and mask them as facts, while often they are merely that person's opinion or often - biased judgments, or even worse, an attempt to exert influence in order to enhance or improve their personal situation or for some sort of self - enrichment.
The lesson we need to take from this is that it is important for each of us to proceed with a degree of caution, examine issues thoroughly for ourselves, and thus BEWARE of who you might put your faith in.
1.
The primary consideration must be if you believe that the suggestion or suggestions offered are in the best interest of the organization, rather than for that person's personal gain or enrichment.
Examine thoroughly whether the benefits claimed are true and meaningful, and whether they are believable.
Are the suggestions truly beliefs or part of someone's plan for personal enrichment? 2.
Examine possible motives, and objectively consider what you believe are the actual motivations! Every great leader eventually realizes that the primary focus must consistently be on whether there is an impactful degree of enrichment.
3.
Avoid the mediocre or acceptance of less than the achievable.
Rather, aim for being wonderful and ask all the essential W questions: who; what; where; when and why! 4.
Are you able and willing to analyze motivations, thus seeing through the facade? Will you be objective and proceed with a willingness to examine alternatives with a positive attitude? Does the individual offering advice seek to help, or is there some sort of hidden agenda? 5.
Are the suggestions being offered truly responsible, as well as addressing and being responsive to needs? Are they tangential and self - serving or are they really relevant? How well are you capable of, and able to read them? 6.
Since it is incumbent on an effective leader to continuously strive for excellence, consider advice offered thoroughly rather than merely accepting what is being said as the full facts! Is the suggestion enriching to the organization and its stakeholders, endearing in nature, and constantly and consistently empathetic in its focus and intent? Don't confuse the need to be open - minded and maintain a positive attitude, with blindly putting faith in what others say or do! BEWARE an somewhat wary, consider alternatives, but carefully evaluate and review thoroughly before considering the proposal as fact!
