So I was out golfing (yeah, it's a really tough life, but I'm not complaining) yesterday and I was being tortured and abused by the golf gods.
Were it not for all the golf chipping drills I have been practicing my score would have looked more like a bowling score.
Have you ever had a day when you were hitting the ball really well, just not where you wanted it go? Ever have days like this? Don't lie.
I know you have.
Has this happened to you? Don't lie.
I know it has.
Now the course I was playing is mostly a links course where you can easily spend an hour looking for your ball 3" from the fairway.
So,I felt it necessary to feed the weeds with Nike banana balls.
The starters have to have something to do when they're bored.
Thank the Lord for all those chipping instructions lessons.
Needless to say hitting a green yesterday was harder than picking pepper out fly poop.
Because I practiced some simple golf tips on chipping, I had the confidence around the greens to salvage a score that kept me from taking up bocce ball instead of golf.
I still find it amazing what a difference chipping instructions have made in my scores.
Of course on days like yesterday my chipping salvaged what could have been a BP oil spill.
I have to tell you that there was another diabolical factor regarding this particular round of golf.
Most of my life I have lived with a slice to a fade with my long clubs.
So this year I decided to find a cure for my slicing.
And guess what? It worked yesterday.
My drives were straight and longer than usual.
My only problem is it took me to the 15th hole to trust in the shot and not set up to the left of the fairway to account for the slice.
I am still amazed at how well online golf instructional programs work.
I have been taught by PGA teaching professionals, have sat in on lessons for my son, but have never gotten results like I have since I made the decision to buy a highly regarded online golf instructional program.
One of my best sporting decisions ever.
It won't be long now when the Golf Gods will abandon me and pursue my golfing partners.
