How to Repair Motorcycle Windshields

    • 1). Mix a few squirts of dishwashing soap in a bowl of water. Soak a towel in the soap mixture and use it clean the entire surface of the scratched or damaged windshield. Let the windshield soak in the solution for at least one minute before rinsing it off with water.

    • 2). Dry the windshield with a soft cloth and repeat the cleaning and rinsing process until the windshield is completely free of dirt and grime.

    • 3). Rub the plastic surrounding the damage on the windshield with 600-grit sandpaper, following a circular motion. Continue sanding it until it becomes level with the bottom of your scratch, making it unnoticeable when you run your hand on the windshield. This will make the damage appear cloudy due to the circular scratches made by the sandpaper.

    • 4). Apply plastic polish to the affected area. Buff the area with a lambswool buff attached to a power drill. Make sure that you do not press the buff too hard or it may increase the scratches on your windshield.

    • 5). Get another clean cloth and use this to apply more polish to your windshield. Continue polishing the scratched area until it shines and the cloudy sandpaper marks disappear.
