- An inactive smart chip is a SIM card that is no longer in use with a cellular network. The chip might be inactive because of discontinued network service or an unpaid phone bill. Several functions on a phone are unavailable if an inactive smart chip is installed, such as call management and Internet access.
- If the chip is active but the W350 rejects it, the chip might be inserted incorrectly. Remove the cover from the back of the W350, remove the battery and slide the smart chip from its chamber. Confirm that the chip is free of dirt and grime, realign the metal receptors of the chip to the metal receptors of the SIM chamber, and insert the chip firmly.
- To reactivate a smart chip, remove it from its compartment and retrieve the numbers from the back of the card. Call your network provider, tell them you wish to reactivate the smart chip and give them the numbers from the chip, if necessary. The network might require you to activate a new smart chip.
