- 1). Shut off power to the circuit you are working on by flipping the appropriate switch at the circuit breaker box. Remove the old lighting fixture that you want to replace and disconnect the wiring.
- 2). Bring the electrical wires through the cover plate for the track lighting system.
- 3). Fasten the cover plate to the junction box.
- 4). Secure the track head to the cover plate loosely and connect all electrical wiring. Cover the wire splices with electrical tape and plastic insulating caps.
- 5). Drill holes in the ceiling for mounting the track sections. Drive the supplied screws through the mounting holes in the track and into the ceiling holes, using anchors if needed.
- 6). Put the first track section into the end connector and tighten the mounting screws.
- 7). Insert the other section of track into the connector and mount the track section to the ceiling. Place the cover over the end of the second track section.
- 8). Insert the light fixtures into the track and lock their bases into place following the manufacturer's directions.
- 9). Install the bulbs into the fixture heads and adjust the lighting accordingly.
