Just Dance!
Kherington and Mark got a Jazz routine from Tyce as their second number. Tyce noted that there was no story or characters in this dance, which was simply about "feel[ing] the music" and "just dancing." Dancing to Jamiroquai's "Canned Heat" the routine was technically sound, but it lacked that little something that connects both the dancers and the steps. It wasn't a bad routine, but it wasn't very memorable.Lil' C thought it was a "good routine" and that Kherington did a "wonderful job." However, he thought that Mark should show "more confidence" when doing the lifts. Mary said it was good, but that it didn't make her want to "jump out of [her] seat." She wanted to be "fired up" by their performance and she wasn't. Nigel thought it was like a "driving test" and while they were proficient enough to "pass the test" there was "nothing outstanding about it." There was nothing that would make people "get up and vote [for them]."
Hip-Hop Mastery
Comfort and Twitch got a Hip-Hop routine and considering they are both hip-hoppers, their choreographer, Dave, understated things when he said he expected the performance to be "somewhat tremendous." Set to Chris Brown's "Forever," the routine was like a master class in hip-hop. The movements were sharp, precise and also had that "added something" that elevated it beyond just dancers dancing choreographed steps. Lil' C said "that was kind of buck!" He went on to explain that buck meant when "internal artistry meets physical expression." Mary thought it was buck as well, saying it was "terrific." She singled out Comfort, saying she really "stepped up to the plate" with the routine.Nigel thought the routine was so good, "it didn't look choreographed" and that it was "brilliant." He additionally praised Comfort and ended with a simple, "welcome back!"
