Carly and Omar
On Omar’s boat, Carly informs him that Rafe is out of the woods and he’ll have no problems. She insists that she has to go back and contact Bo. He notices her preoccupation and wonders what’s wrong. Carly reveals that Bo in now the police commissioner. Omar warns her that the last thing she needs right now is a law enforcement official, let alone a police commissioner. He wonders if she’s going to walk into Bo’s office and pray he hasn’t been reading bulletins from Interpol.
She says no and picks up the paper, mentioning that she has an old friend who can possibly help her. We see the article “Justin Kiriakis Triumphs: Jonas Cleared of All Charges.”
Carly puts her hood back on and worries about being recognized. Omar insists that they can go someplace where nobody recognizes her. He offers to take her anywhere in the world. Carly expresses her thanks. Omar warns her to be careful, especially after Brian tried to kill her. She knows she can’t keep hiding the rest of her life.
Brady Household
Justin is helping Hope pack up her things when Bo arrives home. Hope asks Justin to take some of her things outside and give them a minute. She tries to assure Bo that Justin isn’t taking sides and is only helping her with her luggage. Bo asks if Doug and Julie know that she’s their new border. She reveals that Doug and Julie are going on a cruise and she doesn’t like the idea of being all alone in their house. Bo insists that if she really cared about Ciara, Hope wouldn’t drag their daughter from her home.
Hope insists that she can’t just do what he wants her to do. She rehashes how Dean held their daughter at gunpoint, reminding Bo that Ciara wakes up from nightmares screaming and reliving everything she’s been through. “And your solution to that, is to tear her family apart? Take her from her father?” asks an incredulous Bo, who refuses to let Hope do that.
Hope affirms that giving her direct orders isn’t going to help the situation. Bo lashes out at Hope for taking everything away he cares about, then when he doesn’t act the way he should, she gets mad at him. A frustrated Bo asks Hope where she’s going. “Victor invited us to stay with him for a while,” she reveals. A floored Bo can’t believe Hope is taking his daughter to live in that house. “My father is a career criminal!” asserts Bo, who brings up how Ciara is supposed to be in school three minutes from their house. Hope says she can drive Ciara, and Bo quips what a great idea this is. Hope refers to him as impossible to talk to.
Justin takes more boxes outside before Bo insists to Hope that they can sell the house and start fresh. Hope insists that she loves the house. An incredulous Bo wonders if she actually thought he would be happy with her decision to live at Victor’s. Hope offers to call him tomorrow. “Maybe by then, you won’t be quite so interested in being right about everything and a little more interested in communicating,” she coldly suggests. Bo tell her to watch her back, and Hope calls him a hypocrite, ranting how their house was compromised by his decision to take on the kidnappers. She storms out.
Carly Manning
Carly comes to the pier and flashes back to when she first met Bo and introduced herself. She wishes she could pick up the phone and call Bo, but it’s too direct. “Justin, it’s up to you,” she says.
Carly soon arrives at the Kiriakis mansion and remarks how it’s not her favorite place, flashing back to a time when she declared to Victor that it was over. She knocks on the door and rushes off before Henderson answers the door. She proceeds to head over to Bo’s house.
Carly comes to the cemetery and has a daunting flashback to being buried alive, then remarks how there’s a memory behind each tombstone.
Carly later comes outside with a flashlight the Brady house and breaks the window, then opens the door. Bo hides before throwing the intruder on the floor, warning her that she just made a really big mistake. He uncovers her hood and sees that it’s his old flame, Carly. “Hey. Sorry to drop in on you like this,” she says.
Back at the Kiriakis Mansion
Henderson lets Hope and Justin in and offers to make some tea. Hope says she still needs to pick up Ciara, and Henderson takes her bags upstairs. Justin asks Hope if she’s okay, but she can’t help but wonder if it’s a terrible mistake she’s making.
Sami and E.J.
At the Java Café, Sami says she should’ve kept a couple of bucks for herself. She flashes back to giving Nicole the $50,000 to leave the country, then tells herself she had to do it, but it’s going to kill E.J. “Not that he doesn’t deserve it,” she adds. E.J. hears her and asks what she’s talking about. He mentions Nicole, and Sami claims her friend is busy tonight.
Sami later tries to find some cash in her purse, and E.J. offers to treat her. She says no thanks and refers to herself as stupid for ever thinking she could change his mind. She soon finds some money and tells E.J. they don’t need to pretend to be happy to see one another. E.J. states that they have something important they need to discuss: Johnny.
E.J. brings up how they share custody of Johnny, and she warns that he’d better not be threatening her. He advises her to think very carefully before she starts aligning herself with Nicole. He rehashes how he lost two daughters and now has one son, affirming how Johnny’s not going to watch his parents tear themselves apart. He reminds her that Johnny is still the most important thing. Sami reminds him that Sydney is still his daughter in every way that counts. “And you did not lose her! You threw her away!” she retorts. He tells her to just think about Johnny. “E.J., I am thinking about you!” she exclaims.
Sami complains how frustrating E.J. is with the way he hurts people. She knows he loves his kids, then wonders how he can be so stupid. “This from one of the great intellects of Salem,” he quips. She questions why he’s so miserable, why Nicole’s hurting, and why Sydney’s wondering where her daddy is. He refuses to discuss Nicole with her and affirms that their relationship is based solely on the parenting of their son.
