Transitions

Click "Transitions" from within the "Look" section of the "Settings Panel".

The screen that appears lets you determine how transitions happen in certain situations.

For example when you change from one virtual desktop to another you can make the screen crossfade or vswipe. (You will need to see them in action to appreciate them). 

Compositing

If you prefer something more entertaining like the famous wobbly window effects click on the "Compositor" option within the "Settings Panel".

The effects that can be applied to windows include:

• default
• everything
• flip
• full screen
• menu
• none
• popup
• rotate
• still

Again these effects are hard to describe in writing. They have to be seen to be appreciated.
