I remember watching the news a short time ago.
The newscasters were excited about a "developing story.
" The reporters were so excited at the possibility of sharing something awful and horrible with the public.
In fact, at one point they began asking "what if" questions again hoping to entice the listener into believing something bad might happen.
The story ended up fizzling out, leaving the newscasters having nothing to say but trying to fill air time.
In network marketing there are many opportunities for "developing stories.
" One example might be the company running out of a specific product.
What you do with this specific information can make all the difference in the world between keeping a customer or losing a customer.
Instead of jumping at the opportunity to share bad news, instead share the wonderful information that this product surpassed everyone's expectations and sold out.
The company has ordered more to meet this higher than anticipated demand.
You might also encounter a product that ends up being discontinued due to quality control issues.
This is again an opportunity for you to speak about how wonderful the company is and explain how the company immediately stopped production when they realized the ingredients did not meet their very high standards.
If a replacement product has been suggested, let your customer know how the company is thrilled to offer this alternative.
Stories can also develop within teams.
I've seen teams ripped apart by both personal gossip and also company gossip.
If a team member has done something in their personal life that you don't agree with, my suggestion is to either let them know or to keep it to yourself.
No good can come from you sharing your disagreement with others.
This is also true if you believe someone has misrepresented the company.
By spreading the story, you create a stigma attached to you, your group and your company.
Things will not always go as planned in network marketing.
See how you can take those situations and turn them into a marketing benefit instead of a talked about news story.
