The New Era of Network Marketing
In the present day, in the era of the internet people are constantly getting pitched to
new businesses and opportunities. Because of this, people have setup ways to protect themselves (e.g.pop-up blockers, spyware, adware, antivirus).
In the 21st Century there has never been access to more information;
however, people have never had to be so cautious. So a person might ask, HOW
do you overcome that big obstacle in finding interested prospects online?

Before we discuss self-promotion it is imperative to understand 98% of people
beginning in Network Marketing start off by creating ridiculous lists of friends
and family to enroll their business. There are two majors reasons this method is doomed to fail:
1) Calling family and friends to enter your business opportunity is NOT marketing
2) When you no longer have loved ones...you are HIGH AND DRY.
Many people choose Network Marketing to bring financial
prosperity TO their family. Friends and family are NOT looking for a new
business opportunity, and they do not have the same DRIVE that most
entrepreneurs have--so it is doomed to fail eventually. As a matter of fact,
a large amount companies fail to educate their distributors (or marketing executives)
that after 1 year, only 15% of those that join are still in the business.
So, let's say you do elect to gamble, using friends and family to build your business. When you run out of friends and family, you are basically out of business. Until you go out, hunting like a lunatic, looking for new prospects. People are tired of being SOLD, so you are going to be wasting literally 95% of your efforts. It is depressing and it wastes money.
The Solution: Become the HUNTED, not the HUNTER!

You must know that just because you are with a Network Marketing Company does NOT mean you are a business owner. Consider these 3 facts:
1) You don't own the Products- The Company does.
2) You do not own the Company- Clearly.
3) You do not own your Downline- The Company can get rid of you at ANY TIME, and your efforts is left with the Company.
The STRATEGY is to promote yourself. So that if your company "goes under" (as many have, and will) you remain in control of your list and can take them with you no matter where you decide to move. To attain this, you will have to take this idea to heart: People Join People-NOT Business Opportunities. People are social creatures and these two business attraction concepts will bring you to the crown of the industry:
1) You MUST have valuable information to offer your target market (without giving them a sales pitch)
2) You MUST have a SYSTEM they can easily jump into that duplicates: Marketing, Advertising, and Training.

The BEST way to self-promote in a way that makes you stand out on Google (and respected by prospects) is making your OWN blog. NOT a free blog such as linkedIn, but "You.com." Google gives preference blogs because they have great value on niche-specific subjects that best serves its searchers.

1) Get a Domain. (You.com)
2) Get it Wordpress Hosted.
3) Get it Setup and Learn How to Make it Your OWN.

What to Blog About
Create VALUABLE information that your people are searching for, and NOT what you want them to. Think: People who are shopping for axes ACTUALLY want to get rid of a tree. Give value before you pitch.
