The T-Mobile G1 was produced with a "Qwerty" keyboard, and mainly has a similar look to other pocket Pc smartphones which was manufactured by HTC.
The size of the device is 4.
6 inches wide by 0.
6 inch deep, and it weighs 5.
6 ounces.
It's kind of a light object isn't it? So I guess that's one of the main reasons why most of the people want it, ha-ha.
It is said that the T-Mobile G1 device is not as we all know sexy in the appearance, and it's not that attractive really in the first glance, instead, it is what we call the weird device that is really interesting, cool huh?! And why did I say interesting??? Well, it is because the bottom section of the phone is slightly extended from the phone's original body design.
And according to my readings, it was said that the HTC manufacturing company does not have yet the answer on why they created a design like this, but I think, and assumed that this kind of design is to be able for the user to get his/her mouth to the phone's speaker, which is something that is not actually a bad thing or idea, but it somehow affects the design and arrangement of the keys in the keyboard.
The physical layout on the keyboard side is actually enough for us to understand and have a good observation about it, well, for sure, the manufacturer has a clear thought on why did they made this QWERTY keyboard usable.
The keys are somewhat wide in space making the user able to type easier using his/her 2 hands.
Since the mouthpiece section of the phone was a bit extended, it is somehow a bit irritating at first, but once we get use to it, or once we avoid not to over extend our hands to press on a certain key, well, it will no longer be a problem.
Reasonably in a very sensible fashion, the design of the phone was good, the alternate key characters are properly distributed and on the left side of the phone, another "menu" key was placed, though user frequently find time to use it.
After using the phone, the user will surely go back to learn more about the physical input of it, but when get use to it, the user will surely use this device without a problem, instead, he/she will type in the keyboard faster.
The phone's keyboard is used on texting, it is only the way, if the user needs to send an SMS, he/she have to use the keyboard, because the phone does not have a virtual keyboard, well, maybe they will soon provide a virtual keyboard application.
The volume of the phone was placed on the left side of the device; the camera button was on the lower right of it.
The camera on this phone can be flipped to the right, cool huh, because, the ability to flip to the right is not that common this type of phones.
The elegant placement of the lens and the speaker was at the back of the device, and it is place near the top.
You can also find the slot for your microSD card when you slide the keyboard up, also, the whole back of it gives you a way to have an access for your battery and SIM card.
It is really some kind of a "must have" gadget for those who love collecting such.
