- Perform a soft reset on your Palm m515 to fix any minor software issues. Use an unfolded paper clip or the very end of your stylus to press the Reset button, located on the back of the device and centered at the very top. After the Palm logo screen appears, you will have to reset the time and date and any data on the device should not be lost.
- If the soft reset does not work, perform a hard reset. Press and hold the Palm m515's Power button, then simultaneously press the reset button. Hold the power button until the "Palm Powered" screen appears, then press up on the navigational button to confirm the data erase.
- If the problem seems to arise when connecting the device to your computer, try removing and reinstalling the HotSync software. The software used to sync your Palm m515 can be found online, or on the CD that was packaged with your handheld device. In addition to making sure that none of the necessary components are missing from the software, this will also ensure the drivers are up to date.
