How to Make a Treasure Chest Out of Tissue Boxes

    • 1). Measure all the sides of the tissue box with a ruler and write down these measurements.

    • 2). Cut out five pieces of brown construction paper: one that matches the size of the top of the tissue box, two that match the sides of the box and two that match the front and back of the box.

    • 3). Glue the pieces of brown construction paper to their respective sides on the tissue box, using a glue stick.

    • 4). Cut open the tissue box straight across the front and sides, about 1 inch down from the top, using a box cutter. Leave the back of the box intact.

    • 5). Cut out 8 circles of yellow construction paper, each about 2 inches in diameter.

    • 6). Glue one circle onto each corner of the box, using a glue stick and wrapping the circle all around the corner.

    • 7). Cut out an oval of yellow construction paper that is about 1 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide and glue it to the middle of the front of the box, just above the opening, allowing it to overlap the opening slightly so that it looks like a lock. Make sure to only glue the top of the oval down so that the box can still open.

    • 8). Decorate the box by drawing your own designs on it with a black marker.
