Someone said, "What if they held a war and no one showed up.
" I for one would be thrilled although I'm not normally considered a Dove.
Nor am I a Hawk.
But war in the normal sense isn't what this is about.
It is about a war for our culture and our country.
I'm wondering, What if they held a November vote and no one showed up? What if the two choices at the top were neither acceptable nor desirable? In my humble opinion, that is the case at present.
Would the government have to be shut down come 2009? Heaven forbid Nancy Pelosi would take over.
What this is leading to is how screwed up our national politics can get.
And how little we, the common man, has an effect in the way of setting the course of our country.
On the one hand, we have a party who berates the opposition for selecting a Vice-Presidential candidate with very little experience.
Yet, that same party selects a presidential candidate with essentially no more experience than the opposition's V.
P.
candidate.
And the head of the ticket has been running under the banner of change.
Yet he selects a running mate that is one of the longest serving Washington hacks in government.
What does Joe Biden know or believe in concerning change? I suggest nothing or little at best.
On the other side of the aisle, you have a very senior citizen for which I have a tremendous amount of respect as a war hero and citizen.
But he exposes his questionable judgement in selecting a running mate with so little experience.
Especially when there were many more strong viable candidates available.
Liberman, Huckabee and many more.
I have but one vote to cast.
And that vote is important to me.
Given the opportunity I would honestly like to be able to split it, and cast half for Obama and the other half for Palin.
That my friend would be change in it's truest form.
The results might be terrible were that possible, but hard to believe those two together could be any worse than what we have had for sometime.
I really don't see that as all that crazy though, in light of Joe Biden stating recently that he'd be proud to run as John McCain's V.
P.
Yes he did say that! So am I a bad American if I hold my vote close to my heart and don't give it to anybody? Given two different foods to eat that I didn't like, I would not eat at all before selecting one and eat it if not required too.
As I see it, the political food choices I'm being offered are neither to my liking and so I believe I will not select one and consume it.
I will just not eat.
As for those who might suggest I taste of a third choice not on the main table, I find that equally repulsive.
I sincerely hope once you carefully consider the choices, that once you bite, you are able to chew and swallow with a clear conscious and that there is no need later for the economy size bottle of Pepto-Bismol!
