Chinese Stress Balls - What Exactly Are They and How Do You Use Them?

Firstly Chinese stress balls have many different names associated with them such as worry balls, therapy balls, meditation balls, cloisonne balls, Baoding balls amongst others.
Although there are many different types they pretty much all serve a basic purpose, which is rooted in meditation and exercise.
For the purposes of this article they will be referred to as Chinese balls.
There are numerous shapes, styles, and colors of Chinese stress balls that are available for you to 'get your hands on', as well as a multitude of suppliers who you can get them from.
Called Chinese balls because they originated in China, they can be made of iron, stone or wood.
Some come with elaborate designs carved into or painted on them.
Some of these designs also have health and prosperity related messages engraved into them.
They can be solid or hollow and the hollow ones can have a chime inside them, which make a specific tone when the balls are moved.
You have probably seen these or similar ones at some point.
The idea is that you place the two stress balls in the palm of your hand and rotate them clockwise and counterclockwise while trying to ensure they do not touch each other.
There are supposedly people who can control more than two stress balls in one hand without the balls touching one another.
Chinese balls are commonly used as Alternative Medicine and have numerous health benefits.
They are used for stress relief, to improve balance and coordination, prevent arthritis and rheumatism, stimulate blood circulation, and help during physical therapy.
Centuries ago when stress balls where made predominately out of iron they were also supposedly used as weapons.
Perhaps this is where the real stress relief properties of the balls stemmed from.
Although typically Chinese stress balls are very effective at helping to relieve stress, you may not have as much success if your condition is more serious or in an advanced stage.
Should this be the case it is advisable to seek the advice of a professional medical practitioner.
