Eating on your traction pad IS known to make you a better surfer.
Ingredients: - 1 Bowl of oatmeal (I use the flavored kind, maple cinnamon, but if you have plain, just add honey) - 1/4 cup of sliced California almonds (I am just assuming they are from Cali...
Lucky almonds!) - 1/4 cup of dried cranberries (AKA craisins, or "CRAZY RAISINS") - 1 ripe banana (from a tree, or store) Instructions: 1.
Make oatmeal 2.
Add other shit 3.
Banana is for before or after.
Fuel does the body good.
Especially before a grueling paddle out.
This is the breakfast that really gives me the energy to last a long morning session with the waves, or at work.
If you are within 10 minutes from the break, I do recommend only having the banana first.
It will provide energy through the sugar, and potassium to prevent you from cramping while paddling.
The entire meal might be too much for someone, to then rest their stomach on a board through heavy swell.
Being 10 minutes from the beach, I eat the banana, surf, then I make the meal.
It replaces the carbohydrates I burned, to keep me ready for the next session.
The oats are a great low G.
I.
carbohydrate, so they will give you energy and not let you feel logy after.
The craisins provide natural sugars and vitamins, while the almonds are natures super food.
An almond has the perfect balance of carb, protein, and fat (omega-3, the good kind).
Almost 6 grams of each per serving, that is why it is so "super".
A big part of lifestyle design is control.
For the lifestyle I am designing, it is essential that I eat as healthy as possible to keep me going.
In order to fulfill this, I make most of my own meals.
Since I live right on the water, I eat this right after surfing, and it gives me that "good full" feeling to blast through the necessary workday morning.
Keep in mind, this is all not complete without natures key ingredient.
H2O.
You need it to surf in, and you most certainly need it to keep you going.
Chug, Chug, Chug, water..
..
All day, Err' day.
