I Love the 90s with Satellite TV

Sometimes you just want to sit down and watch a classic old movie. You don't necessarily want to watch an old black and white "talkie" movie from back when your parents were children, but you want to watch something that hasn't been in theatres for a very long time. You can watch some of the classic hits of the 1990s to quench that craving for an oldie-but-goodie when you have satellite TV in your house.

One of the best movies from the 1990s is "Mrs. Doubtfire." If you are ever flipping through the many movie channels offered through the satellite TV packages and happen to stumble upon "Mrs. Doubtfire," you should stop flipping right there and enjoy some good, old-fashioned comedy. The movie is one of Robin Williams' best performances (though that is difficult to say considering how many great movies Robin Williams has been involved in) and definitely worth watching many times.

"Mrs. Doubtfire" is about a man who wants to spend more time with his children after losing them in a custody battle with his ex-wife. He no longer gets to see the children as often as he would like to after divorcing his wife, so he chooses to dress up as a nanny and spend time with them under the disguise of a woman named Mrs. Doubtfire. The children naturally fall in love with Mrs. Doubtfire and grow to trust her before finding how she is really their dad just trying to spend more time with them. They come to her with secrets and she watches their sports games. Williams is hilarious throughout the whole film and the situations he gets himself into are wildly entertaining.

Another classic hit from the 1990s is "Clueless" with Alicia Silverstone. The movie is about the lifestyle of a group of teenagers living in Los Angeles and driving nice cars. Women and girls alike have been quoting this movie since the day it hit theatres in the 1990s. The lives of Cher and her high school friends as they go through classes, learn how to drive and deal with relationships is comical and yet a tragedy and set in a time before high definition televisions but not before high performance SUVs. You find yourself laughing at the parody of these high school kids' lifestyles because you know at least one person who could actually hit in with Cher and her friends.

If you don't feel like watching a comedy from the 1990s but want to find a movie from the decade that you feel like watching, you could always watch "Forrest Gump." This movie is a classic not only because of the characters that develop throughout the movie, but also because it has the ability to make you laugh and cry within minutes of each other. You won't regret finding "Forrest Gump" on your satellite TV package while you're flipping through channels on your HD TV. But you might regret watching it without tissues around to dry your tears during a few of the scenes.
