Every teenager has experienced the dreaded acne. Once puberty sets in, our body goes through some hormonal change, including the appearance of acne on the face, neck, shoulders, chest and back.
Tomato pulp, combined with honey and rose-water, is great for treating acne. Before you have your daily shower, mix a real tomato pulp, honey, and rose-water together. Apply the mixture to your face for 20 minutes and then wash it off thoroughly to naturally treat acne. Cream, glycerin, and lemon juice also work pretty well here as an alternative.
Since your body is made of about 70% water, it's only natural to assume drinking plenty of water will have a great effect on not only your body, but your skin. You get out what you put in, if you continue to drink sodas filled with sugars, dyes, and acid, chances are your acne won't be getting better any time soon. Reduce the amount of sodas and sugary drinks you consume and increase your water intake. This step alone will produce amazing results in 1 day!
Drink lots of water to flush toxins from your body. It will also help regulate your hormonal system. Oatmeal masks can help dry out acne. Cook the oatmeal until mushy, and while it is still warm spread it on your acne. You can leave it on for just a few minutes as a facial scrub or leave it on for up to 15 minutes for a soothing mask.
When in the shower, wash your face last, very last. The reason for this is especially important if you use conditioner in your hair. When you rinse the conditioner out of your hair, it runs down your face, cuasing greasiness and clogged pores.
Purchase a microfiber (dermal grade) face cloth. NOT from the Dollar Store! These remove the top layer of skin, use it every 10 days or so to keep your skin healthy and vibrant.
When hair follicles are obstructed, the sebum that is produced gets trapped and block or plug the follicle. This process called comedogenesis, produces a type of acne called comedones or what we typically call whiteheads and blackheads.
Diet is another important factor to look at while trying to clear up acne. The foods you eat have as much to do with the health of your skin as the skin products you use. Plenty of fruits and vegetables are important for healthy skin, as are whole grains and plenty of fiber. Avoiding foods that are full of sugar, over-processed, and that contain trans fats or saturated fats are a great way of ensuring that the skin is healthy.
