Stomach weight loss can be a problem.
The fat around your waist is just the same as any other fat stored in your body.
It builds up because your calorie intake is more than we require, so your body stores the excess as a reserve that it can call on just in case you decide to starve yourself.
It's natures way of making sure that you can survive if there is no food available.
Basically, if you consume more calories than you burn, your body will store the excess as fat and you're going to put on weight.
You'll notice that one of the first places that starts to grow is your lower abdomen.
Whilst it's fair to say that the fat there is the same as anywhere else on your body, it can be much more difficult to get rid of.
There are certain areas that you can 'spot treat' but, with your abdomen, it's different.
Contrary to popular belief, sit-ups, crunches and the like aren't going to help with Stomach Weight Loss.
You need regular exercise to ensure that your calorie 'expenditure' is greater than your intake.
That way your body will start to burn the excess fat from wherever it can.
If you reduce your calorie intake while you build up your exercise, the fat will start to come off.
Once you've got your weight down, you can start working on toning up your abs and getting the six-pack that you want.
Put simply, what you need to do is this : Reduce your daily calorie intake Take regular exercise (something as simple as a 20 minute walk will help) KEEP TO THIS PLAN! Try not to lose too much weight too quickly as your body will switch into 'starvation mode' and you'll start to lose muscle.
Your metabolism will slow down so that you don't burn calories as quickly and your appetite will increase making it very easy to put weight back on.
Try to lose no more than 3-4 pounds per week and the chances are that your body will be happy with that and your stomach weight loss program will be successful.
