- 1). Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
- 2). Insert the putty knife into the gap between the front panel and top panel. Push the knife into the internal clips at the front corners to unhook the top panel.
- 3). Lift the top panel up to rest it on its back hinges. Unplug the electrical connector leading to the door switch.
- 4). Remove the two screws along the top of the front panel from inside the cabinet.
- 5). Lift the front panel straight up to disconnect it from the Kenmore 80 series gas dryer. Set the panel aside.
- 6). Move the idler pulley to the left side of the dryer cabinet to loosen the belt.
- 7). Lift the tub out through the front of the dryer cabinet.
