Did you know that going from zero exercise to just a little bit has enormous health benefits? Much of the medical research, at least to according to my doctor and what I've read, says that there is more of a health benefit in going from a no exercise to some than in going to some exercise to super fit.
There is more of a health benefit in going from a no exercise to some than in going to some exercise to super fit.
So the average American (and other) total coach potato will get more benefits from taking a few 10 minute walks a week, than a moderately active person will get from becoming a super fit triathlete for example.
That simply amazes me.
I do have some friends my age and older who are entirely inactive.
Some of them claim they can't do any exercise because of "fill in the blank" - they always have some reason.
But I think almost anyone can do some exercise! For example, my father is almost 90 years old and has Parkinson's disease.
Yet he walks almost everyday, rain or shine, for about 30 minutes.
Outside when whether permits, otherwise inside, for example at the local mall.
He also lifts weights at least twice a week.
He never was a fit guy either, but does it for the health benefits and enjoys it.
And I know wheelchair bound individuals who are stay quite active as well.
Regardless of your age, some exercise, any exercise really matters.
Just a little has enormous health benefits according to the medical community, and oh yeah, you'll feel better too.
And who doesn't want to be healthier and feel better?
