- 1). Examine your attic for possible locations that squirrels can enter. Vents and wooden gables are particularly vulnerable. As a further deterrent, you should attempt to seal these areas to limit pest access.
- 2). Measure the square footage of the attic, using a tape measure. Measure the width and depth of the floor in feet and multiply the numbers together. Most ultrasonic pest repellents will cover a limited amount of floor space.
- 3). Place the devices near potential access points, using enough devices to adequately cover the area based on the square footage. Place the devices in a location where the sound waves are free to travel and are unblocked by boxes or other obstructions.
