- 1). Figure out how many candles you want to purchase. You might be buying 20 or 30 candles to give out as gifts to friends, family members, and coworkers, or you might be purchasing hundreds of candles to sell through your own business.
- 2). Decide what types of candles you want to buy. You might be buying only one type, or you may want to buy a wide variety of candles. Decide what colors you want to buy; how large you want the candles to be; and if you want to buy scented, unscented or both.
- 3). Make a budget. Your budget will be partly dependent on how many candles you plan to buy, how large they are and how decorative they are. Candles that have multiple layers with different scents, a variety of colors, or that come in a glass container will be more expensive than plain candles.
- 4). Search online for retailers that sell candles wholesale. Some examples include Bell-A-Roma Candles, General Wax & Candles Company, and Keystone Candle Company. Compare the selection offered by each retailer. Make note of the wholesale prices offered, as well as how many candles you need to buy to get a volume discount.
- 5). Buy your candles from the retailer that offers the best price for the type of candles you want to purchase. Don't forget to factor the shipping cost into the total price of your order before deciding.
