- 1). Review the product description. If you have the photograph that will accompany your copy, that's even better. Make sure that you're properly familiarized with what you're writing about before you even start.
- 2). Write your initial copy. If you're describing an industrial mixer or a two-piece bathing suit, you still need to get all the words out and to stay within your word count.
- 3). Review your copy. Check to make sure you included all the facts, such as the material and color, but that you didn't lapse into jargon. Use persuasive, specific language and try to keep things simple. The people ordering your products are often not as interested in technical details as they are in understanding why those products are good.
- 4). Turn your copy in to the editor. Discuss any necessary changes and rewrite that copy if necessary.
