- 1). Inspect the pneumatic brad nailer for any defects or damaged safety features. Look for cracks or loose fasteners on the tip, handle and body of the brad nailer.
- 2). Hook the pneumatic nailer to the proper air supply. A number of air supply options are available for brad nailers, including an air hose to a compressor, a Co2 cartridge or a battery.
- 3). Test the pneumatic brad nailer on a solid piece of lumber to make sure that the gun is working properly. The nail should penetrate the wood with ease. If the brad nail does not sink completely into the lumber, adjust the depth screw located at the tip area of the pneumatic brad nailer.
- 4). Grasp the object you're nailing, and hold it into place. Keep your hand out of the way of the nail to prevent injury.
- 5). Press the tip of the pneumatic brad nailer to the object, and squeeze the trigger. Allow the nail to hit solid wood behind the object to properly secure it into place and to prevent the brad nail from penetrating completely through the object.
