- 1). Put on rubber gloves and wet a tooth brush under running water. Place a drop of liquid dishwasher detergent and use the brush to clean around the rubber seal of the door, as recommended by Mrscleanusa.com. Food and grime tend to collect in this area.
- 2). Wet a sponge in warm water. Pour liquid dishwasher detergent on the sponge, as directed by Maytag.com. If you use powder instead of liquid, simply sprinkle enough powder on the wet sponge to create a thin paste.
