Are Charitable Donations to the Arts Only for the Rich?

So many think that contributing to the arts is only for the rich, but it really can be for anyone.
There are a number of charitable organizations that use their money wisely and could use even one dollar contributions.
Relying only on the rich for the funding of the arts could cause some dangerous repercussions for society.
One case in point is public television.
Public television has dedicated their programming to educating Americans and especially children.
However, they are constantly in danger of dropping from the grid if they don't receive enough donations to keep going.
This is a problem in that people are perfectly content to pay $50.
00 or more for cable broadcasting and there are very few networks that cater to educating young Americans.
If every American could donate $5 a month to an art cause of their choice, then the arts would not have to struggle so much to stay afloat.
Another good way to contribute to the arts is to buy the works of local artists.
With the introduction of the internet, the concept of the local artist has expanded in meaning.
There are artists from all over the world that have very small followings.
They may display their works online and some might make them available for sale.
By helping these artists, by purchasing their art, this contribution is the greatest of all.
When you buy from an artist online or locally, you know exactly where your contribution is going.
If you want more works from this favorite artist, then the best way to ensure that is to buy their work so that they can continue to paint or craft.
Public television has a lot going for them as far as advertising, but the smaller artist does not have the same power in their arsenal.
Many artists have turned to creating online art galleries of their works.
While this is a great way for them to get their works noticed; this type of business still relies on word of mouth.
If you know an artist that you like very much, then make sure to spread the word to everyone you know.
A great way to do that is through Facebook and Twitter.
Sharing your find of a great artist with everyone you know can also be a great contribution to the arts.
It doesn't always take money to contribute.
Simply telling people about the works of an artist with a link or even in person can start a very campaign for your favorite artist.
Not many people realize the contributions that they are making with just a simple click of a 'share' button or a click on a 'like'.
This simple contribution to the arts can send waves throughout the world that may eventually bring this artist great fame and fortune.
Contributions to the arts are not reserved only for the rich.
Anyone that has a friend or a connection to the internet can make a difference simply by sharing the word about a talented artist.
Remember this the next time you share a painting you found on the internet.
You may have just been responsible for discovering the next Van Gogh.
