- 1). Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2). Mix cake ingredients into a large bowl. Whisk milk, butter and sugar together until consistency is thin. Add one egg and continue whisking. Add the second egg, followed by the vanilla. Add flour and baking powder as the final ingredients. Whisk all of the ingredients together until the batter is smooth.
- 3). Place the scorpion mold onto a flat surface. Tilt the mixing bowl carefully over the mold. Dispense the mix from the bowl into the mold using a spatula. Make sure the mix is evenly poured throughout the mold.
- 4). Place mold into the oven and bake for approximately 35 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the cake to see if it is baked. When the toothpick comes out clean, your cake is done.
- 5). Remove the cake from the oven. Allow the cake to cool for 30 minutes.
- 6). Flip the mold upside down onto a serving tray. Carefully pull the mold off of the cake to display the scorpion figure. Fill your icing bag about halfway with icing. Hold the icing bag at a 45 degree angle. Place the icing bag tip just above the surface of the cake. Squeeze the bag to dispense icing. Cover the cake in dark icing -- brown or red -- for the full scorpion effect.
