- 1). Locate the studs in the wall behind the curio cabinet. Use an electronic stud finder or simply tap the wall with a hammer feeling for the main studs. You may need to move the cabinet slightly so that it sits in front of a stud.
- 2). Measure the height and width of the curio cabinet. Divide it up into four sections. Mark the dividing line between the sections on the back of the cabinet with a carpenter's pencil. Make sure a minimum of one of the spots line up with a stud.
- 3). Install two L- brackets at the rear top of the curio cabinet near the center. Place the smaller arm of the bracket against the wall while the longer arm is on the top of the cabinet. Screw the L brackets into the bookshelf and then into the wall stud.
- 4). Fit L-brackets on the inside upper corners of the cabinet and screw through the bracket into the wall. Fit a second screw through the bracket and into the cabinet itself.
- 5). Anchor the curio cabinet to the studs in the wall driving a screw through the back of the cabinet and into the wall.
