Earlier this year Harold Camping boldly claimed that May 21, 2011 would be the day of rapture ("ascension") for many Christian believers and that six months later on October 21, 2001, the rest of the world would be destroyed.
As far as I am aware, nobody got raptured yet, not even Harold Camping, and, at the time of this writing (October 20, 2011), the world is not yet destroyed.
Then came the comet Elenin predictions for September.
(Elenin allegedly an acronym for "Extinction Level Event Notable Impact Nemesis" or "Extinction Level Event Near Impact Niburu.
") Elenin gurus predicted that massive earthquakes of magnitude 12 to 15 would destroy the entire Pacific Rim on September 26, 2011 based on astronomy data showing the comet in close alignment with the Earth and Sun on that day.
(The argument went that similar earlier alignments--when Elenin was further away from the Earth--exactly coincided with the Fukushima and the Christchurch, New Zealand Earthquakes.
) On September 26, 2011, Japan, China, New Zealand, Korea and the West Coast of the United States were to have been completely destroyed.
(But, like Camping's rapture, this didn't occur, either.
) Paying no heed to others' mistakes, new prophets continue to make ever more creative "end times" predictions.
For example, information going around on the Internet from a so-called "Planetary Ascension Team" gives November 11, 2011 ("11/11/11") as the true date of the first wave of Ascension.
On that date, those who have "prepared" themselves by building special "portals" around their homes will literally vanish from the "3D" Earth.
(I think some people have been reading too much Gary Renard.
) I have been following the channeled material of a couple of sources for about 6 years now and am surprised to see that even people whom I have read (who used to make some sense) hold a lot of misunderstandings about the Ascension process.
According to my understanding and personal experience with the Ascension process, no one will vanish without a trace Star-Trek style on 11/11/11--or on any other day, for that matter.
That is a myth and a fear tactic used to manipulate and distract people from what they really ought to be doing--learning to follow and trust their own inner guidance.
Another "light-worker" asserts that in order for you to be able to ascend, you have to "accept the Ascension scenario"--similar to how some Christian sects require you to accept Jesus as your personal savior.
And...
if you ascend "early" (around 11/11/11), then it's likely that you will come back in about a year's time to "mentor" those who "remained behind.
" (Come back as a baby, maybe? Well it's true that babies do change us.
) Looks like anything goes for those who are confused about Ascension.
I am hoping that after 11/11/11 is over and no one has dematerialized from this "plane," people will tune out the confused, airy-fairy messages about Ascension and finally do the work of raising their own consciousness--by reconnecting and integrating with their higher self (which includes learning to distinguish and follow through with their inner guidance).

By following through with our inner guidance, we will create the necessary "portals" in our brains (new neural pathways and brain connections) that will help us access our higher consciousness in every moment of our lives--which is what this Ascension process is all about.
