Organic Way to Eliminate Stink Bugs

    • 1). Keep your garden clean. Remove all weeds from your garden, as these provide a natural shelter and food supply for the bugs as well as a nesting ground where they will lay their eggs. Preventing stink bugs from hatching eggs is one of the most effective methods of preventing the problem.

    • 2). Keep your home clean. Vacuum your house regularly and take care to vacuum up any stink bugs that you find in your house. Do not leave any areas for the bugs to hide. Check for any gaps in windows and doors and seal them with caulk; this will prevent the stink bugs from reentering your house.

    • 3). Purchase an organic bug spray. Many pesticides contain harmful chemicals, but organic sprays often have a safer base chemical, such as vinegar, that will kill bugs without harming your garden or the environment. These sprays are available online and through retailers, but make sure that the spray is able to eliminate stink bugs specifically. Use the spray in your home and garden to deal with the problem.

    • 4). Clean up the bodies of any dead stink bugs you come across and place them in a garbage bag. Secure the garbage bag and put it in a sealable garbage container.

    • 5). Keep the lights off when not in use. Stink bugs are attracted to light, and turning lights off is a safe, natural way of encouraging stink bugs to leave a room.

    • 6). Clean your garden at the start of the fall. Mow your lawn, trim your plants, and remove any clutter. This will ensure that the problem does not reoccur in the next growing season.
