Take Affirmations a Step Further

Affirmations If you have had a lot of success with affirmations it is because the use of self talk makes a huge impact on the quality of life.
If our self talk and thoughts are primarily negative then the outcomes of our lives will be mostly negative.
I know because that was the story of my life for entirely too long.
Affirmations are highly effective when used correctly; they really help to train our minds how to think correctly and how to move into action toward what we desire in life.
I keep mine on some note cards, and when I read them out loud at least five times a day they make a really big difference in the way that I think and feel the rest of the day! Also beyond that the affirmations make even deeper changes cumulatively over time.
Some of my favorite affirmations are:
  • I take risks
  • Courage inspires me
  • I take initiative
  • I am confident
The important thing about creating affirmation sentences is to say what you desire in the present tense because the present tense triggers the subconscious into action.
If the affirmation is in future tense (example: I will be skinny) the mind gets lazy because it doesn't feel the need to act now, it can wait until later.
Beyond Affirmations Recently I have been hearing about taking affirmations one step further.
There are different names that I have heard for the process but the process is the same: turn the affirmations into questions.
Turning affirmations into questions to ask yourself makes this process is so impactful to bringing real change! I am really inspired by this next step to affirmations, I can see how asking questions can really take it to the next level by getting the subconscious working even harder to help make it happen.
The questions cause the subconscious to work on not only creating the desired outcome but to answer the question in more detail.
This process gives the subconscious the opportunity to come up with new ideas that could potentially be much greater than we allow ourselves to hope for or imagine at the conscious level! The questions need to be very specific using this method which is great because we desire specific results.
You can also use less specific questions and more specific questions will probably come as you keep asking your less specific questions.
To get yourself started, you can try some of these questions:
  • How am I going to lose the first five pounds?
  • Why am I going to increase my income?
  • How can I get more readers to my blog?
  • Why do I keep finding things that my spouse does right?
  • How can I create a product that my readers will eagerly purchase?
  • Why is my home so organized?
  • How am I going to spend more quality time with my family?
  • Why am I so happy all of the time?
  • Why is my business so successful?
