- 1). Protect a flat work area with a few layers of paper towels, then remove the Canon CL-41 from your printer and position it on top of the towels.
- 2). Carefully begin peeling the label on the top of the cartridge to remove it in a single piece.
- 3). Locate the three refill holes. Underneath the label on top of the CL-41 cartridge are three dimpled holes. The hole on the top center is the magenta refill hole, the hole on the bottom left is the cyan refill hole and the hole on the bottom right is the yellow refill hole.
- 4). Insert the end of the thumb drill into the holes and gently twist it clockwise to enlarge the holes slightly to accommodate the syringe.
- 5). Fill the three syringes with 6 mL of a single color, either yellow, cyan or magenta.
- 6). Position the tip of the appropriate syringe into the magenta refill hole and push it down inside the Canon CL-41 cartridge. Push the plunger slowly to release the ink. Refill the yellow and cyan ink utilizing the appropriate holes in a similar fashion.
- 7). Return the Canon cartridge into your printer and let it sit for 8 hours before running cleaning cycles and returning to your printing tasks.
