If your gum tissue is bleeding, it is an indication that something is wrong or is going wrong.
Even if it's just bleeding a little, or you're saying "It only bleeds when I floss," bleeding gums raise concerns.
A popular dental myth that people ask me about is whether they should quit brushing because of bleeding gums.
However, this myth should be ignored as it is possible that you are not brushing or flossing enough.
You need to seek out dental help so a dentist can advise you if you are brushing improperly, using the wrong type of toothbrush, or whether you are not flossing enough.
A dentist or dental hygienist can answer the question, "Why are my gums bleeding?" Bleeding gum tissue is a sign that something is going on there and you should seek professional help.
How Many Times Should I Brush Per Day? The answer to this question is at least two times per day.
But we all know that sometimes doesn't happen.
And we all know that sometimes it happens more than that.
But good brushing and flossing on a daily basis keeps our mouth clean and our gum tissue healthy.
If you have the opportunity to brush and floss at least twice per day, you should do it.
It is going to keep your mouth clean and your gum tissue healthy.
You can even brush your tongue if you want good oral hygiene.
You can also rinse with some kind of product whether it is mouth wash or an anti-carries rinse which prevents cavities.
But the most important thing is good brushing and flossing.
We all have plaque and bacteria in our mouth that needs to be removed from our gum tissue both on top of our teeth and between our teeth.
So you need to brush and floss at least twice per day.
How Often Should I Change My Toothbrush? Basically, when the bristles look like they are spreading, it is probably past time to change that brush.
It might be different from one person to another.
Everyone needs to use a soft toothbrush.
If you are very aggressive when brushing with your toothbrush, the bristles will spread out before someone else.
Also, many toothbrushes have blue indicating-dye on the side of them.
When that dye runs out, it is an indication that it is time to get a new tooth brush.
Basically, when the bristles begin to flare and spread apart is when you know it is time to get a new tooth brush.
