Tip Two: Focus on exercises that are designed for core training.
Your body's core resists movement and this is how your core is strengthened.
Resisting movement allows your core to become stronger and to hold your body in a tight position.
You will want to focus on exercises that strengthen your core.
The Side Bridge is a recommended core exercise.
In order to do this exercise: lie on the floor with your arm under your body.
Contract your core while you press against your forearm under your body and lift your legs as they are pressed together; this is a "side bridge" movement.
Hold your legs lifted in the air for 45 seconds and then do the same exercise on the opposite side.
While doing these lifts be sure to contract your buttocks and abs as tightly as possible in order to keep your body straight and to strengthen your core.
Another simple exercise that will strengthen your core is known as single or double leg lowering.
In these exercises you lie on your back on the floor and lift your legs up keeping them as straight as possible.
You can then lower one leg until it is just inches from the floor and hold it in position for 45 seconds; then repeat.
You switch legs so that you do the same number of reps on each leg.
This exercise can also be done by lowering both legs until they are just inches from the floor and holding them in position.
