Websites, whew, that just seems like such a tough task to accomplish, well it is just as easy as saying the word.
I mean one of the absolute wonderful things about the internet is that there are a lot of websites available to help you learn web design and create your very own website.
The basics are really just getting together the product that you want to promote, the copy (text or body) that you wish to write to help sell your product and some media (pictures, videos, etc) to help enhance the experience and give your customer what they are looking for.

This enables me to own a piece of virtual real estate that has to do with my niche.

If you need to use a web host than try to find one that will give you a little flexibility, you have to remember that buying your own domain name means you will need hosting, if you use a free website builder than you can use a sub domain and it will be free.
Please remember that the website is just one small step towards your internet marketing career, and although you can make money without one, it is sure a lot easier with your own space to manage allyour content.
If you own then all the offers you promote and all the visitors you get are there for you and you alone.
