Getting Away For a While? Find Beauitful Edinburgh Self Catering Flats

When I picture myself getting away, whether for a short or long stay, I picture a scenic town with a mixture of sightseeing and relaxing on the itinerary.
A non-too hectic pace with a base to return to at night with the comforts of home.
What better way to get a while for a while than staying in the beautiful Scottish town of Edinburgh in a self-catering flat? This does pose two questions however, why Edinburgh and why self-catering flats? Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, has a wealth of history and a number of tourist attractions well worth a visit.
The famous Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Mary King's Close, Dean Village and its museums, galleries and gardens can easily fill in a few days.
Why not meander the streets of the Old Town admiring the medieval architecture or the New Town with its Georgian structures? Both parts of the capital are World Heritage sites.
A short drive will have you seeing some of the most stunning and jagged natural landscapes in Europe.
Edinburgh is also famous for the many festivals and celebrations it holds each year.
Examples include: Edinburgh Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Edinburgh Art Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Hogmanay celebration.
It is not surprising with this multitude of culture some very famous authors and actors, past and present, have or still do reside here.
One may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of these celebrities.
With plenty to see and do you will need to stay somewhere central to it all.
Self-catering flats can be found right in the heart of the city.
From Stockbridge to Lochrin and Dean Park to Holyrood, all are within walking distance of major tourist attractions.
The only decision you will have to make is what beautiful view will you wish to wake up and stroll to each day.
Why should one stay in a self-catering flat? The idea of self-catering means that it is just like living at home while you are away.
Each flat has a living room, one or two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen.
This means that you have the option of having home cooked meals at any time of the day, cutting the cost of dining out.
Of course there are clubs and pubs nearby for those special occasions or those really wanting to relax and not have to cook.
They are bigger than hotel room so you can spread out and not have the feeling that you are living out of a suitcase.
Some even have a washing machine to cater for those who wish to stay longer or have been tripping around before their visit to Edinburgh.
The self-catering experience in Edinburgh is a definite must for any visitor to this great location.
It provides a welcoming light to come home to after a busy day of sightseeing or a way to soak in the culture without having to travel too far from your door.
In fact some may never want to leave such luxurious quarters.
