Connecting Cable

• If the iPod touch does not turn on, chances are the cable is faulty or the connection is improper. Before connecting your iPod to the JVC KD-G720, verify the cable you're using isn't broken or faulty. If you can't hear anything, using a different cable can help you determine if the problem is with the cable or the connection itself. If you're using a good cable, verify it's tightly connected to the iPod and the CD player. Firmware

• In some cases, the JVC KD-G720 might not recognize the iPod if the firmware is outdated. The firmware or iOS is responsible for running the iPod, so verifying your player contains the latest operating system may solve connection problems with the CD player. Before updating your device's firmware, verify you're using the latest version of iTunes, otherwise you may run into connection problems. If iTunes is up-to-date, you can install the latest iOS update by clicking the "Check for Update" button in the device's "Summary" tab in iTunes. • Unfortunately, the JVC KD-G720 is incapable of charging an iPod touch. Other than transmitting audio signals, it doesn't have the ability to supply power to the iPod. If your iPod isn't working with the CD player, verify it's fully charged. Tips

• If you're going to use your iPod with the JVC KD-G720, investing in a car charger might be helpful. The JVC KD-G720 doesn't charge iPods, so using a car adapter to charge it using the cigarette lighter port can help on long distance trips. Research multiple car adapters before investing in one – there are a variety of accessories made by third-party companies, and some of them don't work as well as they are stated to. If a "Reset 1 to Reset 7" error appears on the CD player's display, disconnecting the adapter from the unit and the iPod and then connecting it again will solve the problem.
