Downtown New York City spans from Chambers Street southward and from the Hudson River to the East River. With over 400 years of history tucked in these streets, you will never be at a loss for things to do. Enjoy the old, narrow streets, vintage storefronts, parks, waterfronts, and of course, the restaurants. Whether you're looking for breakfast or dinner, casual or elegant, there are dining options to suit everybody in Downtown Manhattan. - Cipriani has several locations throughout the city. The family-owned restaurants are known for their excellent service, and Cipriani Downtown is no exception. The interior of the restaurant features an open, loft-like space, and a heated patio allows for outdoor dining and people-watching. The menu features traditional Italian pasta and meat dishes, and for the health conscious, a section of the menu called "Special Diet to Gain Weight Safely." If you're not watching your figure, be sure to try the sweet crepes and custard, served in a pool of Grand Marnier. Be sure to make reservations.

izzyandnats.com - Bread and olive was opened in 2004 by Elias Ghafary, the Lebanese owner of New York's popular Al Bustan Restaurant. Unlike its uptown sibling, bread and olive is a casual, laid-back restaurant. The interior is sparsely decorated, and Middle Eastern music complements the items on the menu. Try the vegetable dips, kebabs, and hummus. Bread and olive is open for lunch and dinner, and reservations are not required.
