Curing Diabetes Is a Noble Objective

Diabetes is very personal to all of us Almost everyone you know knows someone who has diabetes in one form or another.
Type 1, Type 2 or Gestational Diabetes.
All are different in more than their name, but all are the same disease.
Mostly genetic in it's basic form, it is activated by a number of different events.
Many folks become diabetic in their earliest years, from infancy to mid teens, are 95% Type 1 and are most likely to be insulin dependent for the rest of their life to manage the disease.
It appears very cumbersome and challenging to the outsider, but proper education and treatment are pretty simple to the diabetic once the schedule of treatment is set and becomes routine.
The patient understands what to expect as the treatment is administrated and what to look for s time goes on.
The typical physician treating diabetes is and endocrinologist with a staff trained and educated, on an ongoing basis to manage the disease and new approved treatments that come available.
The research on diabetes is gaining support as the general health of the population in this country grows, literally, in weight gain, better defined as OBESITY.
To say that diabetes is becoming and epidemic is not telling the accurate story.
Epidemics have significant synonyms i.
e.
catching, contagious, infectious, spreading.
These imply that diabetes is something that can be caught.
Diabetes is not caught, it is more likely, particularly in Type 2 and gestational diabetes initiated by our own behavior.
Generally poor diet and a host of other self-inflicted methods, some, like pregnancy, are not self destructive, but self administered just the same Diet, lack of exercise, statistics show that in the United States of America, about 80 percent of type -2 non-insulin dependent diabetics are reported to be overweight.
This is a lack of education and the increasing availability of "fast foods".
It's a fact that "fast food" operations are growing and they are showing a concern in some cases about the products they offer and their nutritional value, but for most of the diabetics currently suffering from the disease it's way past preventing the situation.
So it's time to get these folks educated for their own safety.
Like leading a horse to water and trying to get them to drink, the individual has to have the desire for the "water" of education.
There needs to be a better way of education everyone as to the outcome of having this disease.
It's not pretty blindness, erectile disfunction, loss of nerve senses and in a staggering number of cases amputation of limbs.
I'll be putting out more of these articles, but in the meantime here are 2 links that may be of assistance.
