I received a call today from a young woman who was ready to make some major life challenges.
I can hear the excitement welling up in her voice but there was also unfortunately an element of fear and disappointment.
The fear was not because her own personal inhibitions of pursuing something new and fresh in her life but that those she respected and that were apart of her inner circle would not receive or understand the changes she has so much desired to make for 2010.
The disappointment stemmed from the fact that when you finally had the courage to admit that you have been not doing the thing that is in your heart those that you love has turned their backs on you.
I am finding many women that have a great desire to expose themselves to something different, women that have realized a purpose and or dream but are hesitant because of what others might think of them.
Some statements I have heard; "I want this dream, but sister Suzy says that I should wait.
She said because of my past failures I am not ready.
" "I want to start my business but my girlfriends think that I may not be smart enough to pursue such a task.
" "I told my family that I was going to quit my job to leave my dream of writing and they all said I was crazy!" All of these statements give us just cause to evaluate the environments that we exist in.
We know that in order for a flower to blossom, it must have the right soil and the right seed.
With that being said, in order for you to reach your full potential you have to be in an environment that can nurture that growth.
Those individuals that we select to be apart of our inner circle must be individuals that nurture our potentials.
Those individuals that try to confine you to a certain level of living are hazardous to your dream.
A confining environment will only stunt your growth.
Your inner circle should include people (leaders) that you can emulate.
They should have the following qualities: oThese leaders should be a source of motivation and support that inspire you to go the next level.
oThey must be a person who understands the power of change.
oThe leader must be a person with a progressive mind set As you seek to go higher in your dreams and purposes, it is important that you continue to evaluate your environment and surroundings.
