- 1). Unscrew a plastic 10-inch embroidery hoop so that you can open it. You won't need the inner ring, so toss it aside.
- 2). Slide two 44-inch wide rod pocket curtain panels onto the hoop and then screw it back together. The panels should be 96 inches in length. Sheer or silky panels with stars or moon pattern on it work well for this moon themed canopy.
- 3). Take two 24-inch lengths of 1/2-inch wide ribbon and tie one end of each onto the hoop at the gaps between the curtains, tying the loose ends together in a bow.
- 4). Cut a crescent shape that is at least 12 inches long from a piece of particle board using a jigsaw.
- 5). Paint the crescent shape in your choice of color (pale yellow is ideal for this moon).
- 6). Drill a small hole into the top of the crescent shape once it is dry.
- 7). Screw a pot rack hook into your ceiling where you want to mount your canopy.
- 8). Slip the center of the bow through the hole of the crescent shape and then up and over the hook to hang.
