    Associate of Science in Accounting

    • Based in Waterbury, Post University offers an online program for Associate of Science degree with a major in accounting. A series of general education courses are required, including English composition, history, algebra, statistics and political science. Major coursework includes business law, economics, computing, financial and managerial accounting and cost accounting. Students may choose from six start dates---beginning in January, March, May, July, September or November. Post University is accredited by the Commission on Institutes of Higher Education (CIHE) of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and licensed by the State of Connecticut through the Department of Higher Education (DHE).

    Bachelor of Science in Accounting

    • Post University also offers an online Bachelor of Science degree with a major in accounting. General education requirements includes English composition and literature, psychology, algebra, marketing, macroeconomics, history and e-commerce. Specialized major coursework includes financial and managerial accounting, financial software applications, federal income tax, business law, auditing, intermediate and advanced accounting, analysis of financial statements and fraud prevention and examination. An online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program with a concentration in finance also is available, with coursework in applied accounting and finance, public finance policy and financial modeling.

    Master of Science in Accounting

    • The University of Connecticut offers a Master of Science degree in accounting online. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree and have completed eight courses in accounting: financial and managerial accounting, intermediate and advanced accounting, cost accounting, auditing and U.S. federal income tax. Candidates must submit a resume, two personal essays and their Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores. Coursework includes financial accounting issues, global financial reporting and analysis in the financial services industry, forensic accounting, taxation of business entities and the evaluation of internal controls. The program can be completed within one year of full-time study. It is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
