It is springtime and many folks are finally getting outside and thinking about getting in shape for summer clothes and the beach.
Everyone seems to have a new "grapefruit diet" or the "eat only lettuce three days a week" diet.
Obesity in this country has really gotten out of control.
It is time for a reality check and to find a way to live and lose weight.
With times being tough all over, now is not the time to be on a costly food program, but to start eating well and in less volume.
Tip #1 is to think about the food before you start to eat.
Really, push yourself back from the table or drive away from the drive through, sit back and think about what you are about to do.
Ask "Do I really need the double, double Whopper?" or "would I be happy with a Whopper Jr.
and a salad?" Being conscious about our eating will go along way to losing weight, as so much of what we do is with out a thought.
Tip #2 Try and eat two extra pieces of fruit or vegetables compared to your current diet, and by this I mean fresh fruit or vegetables, not canned or chocolate covered.
By adding just this small amount of freshness into your diet, you will be surprised how much better you will feel.
Tip #3 Get in the habit of going for a walk after a meal.
Take a stroll around the block at lunchtime or after dinner.
Really it is that simple, just walk for few minutes after each meal will go a long way to helping you to lose weight.
This does not seem like rocket science but we just don't seem to do it.
If you have a significant amount of weight to lose, of course you would need to add more exercise and perhaps a supplement to make sure you are getting all the nutrition your body need to shed the pounds.
