Experiencing break up can be very painful. It is not strange to have such strong emotions after a break up, but it is what makes us human. We have all gone through some sort of a breakup in our lives. And it is the steps we take in getting over a break up that determines our ability to move on and be happy again. Here are 4 such steps:
1. Nobody Is To Blame:
Your first step in dealing with a break up, is acknowledging that nobody is to blame. It was neither you nor your ex's fault, so stop accusing them. Passing the blame does no good, but will only make you feel more resentment for each other, and prevent you from ever being friends.
You should be figuring out how to deal with a breakup positively, by acknowledging that the relationship was not going well. And that if you had stayed partners, you would have stopped each other from finding true love and fulfillment with a better suited partner.
2 - Ride Your Emotional Roller-coaster:
The second step in getting over a break up is to ride out your emotions. Feel and accept each emotion as it comes. Sometimes we try to suppress those feelings of sorrow and depression, but this only causes us to suffer for longer than we should.
What you should be doing is finding a positive way to feel and express your emotions. And against to what you may think, crying is very good for you. It is a very healthy way of getting those feeling out and dealing with a break up. This brings us to our next step.
3. Manage Your Anger:
One emotion that many of us feel after a break up, is anger. We may be feelings cheated, sad and angry as we come to grips with the break up. But going out and getting back at your ex, will not help you get over your anger. If you remember, nobody is to blame for your failed relationship, so there is nobody to get back at. Rather scream into your pillow or tell a friend how you feel, as a way of expressing your anger and getting over a break up.
No matter how much you think your ex intentionally hurt you, do not try to hurt them back. Acting like this will make you look like a weak, immature loser, and you will feel worse for doing it. What you should be doing is focusing on getting over a breakup by accepting it and realizing that there is nothing you could have done to prevent it from happening.
4. Keep Your Hopes Up:
The fourth step in getting over a break up, is to stay positive and keep your hopes up. Just because your previous relationship failed, it does not mean you will never have a fulfilling one again. Just remember the fact that your soul mate is still out there waiting to meet you. So keep your hopes up and you will find it easier to let go and move on.
