- 1). Reset the cartridge chip. The resetting tool will come with its own instructions. You must follow the specific instructions to reset the cartridge. Resetting shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
The purpose of a chip resetter is to erase the memory of the cartridge's "smart" chip so it recognizes full ink level after you refill the cartridge. - 2). Spread newspapers or a towel on the surface to avoid a spill.
- 3). Locate the small button on the cartridge that says "PUSH."
- 4). Drill a small hole, using a thumb drill, right below the "PUSH" button.
- 5). Fill the syringe with about 10 ml of ink and attach the needle to the syringe.
- 6). Insert the needle into the hole and slowly start pushing down the plunger.
- 7). Keep injecting the ink until it starts to bubble out of the hole.
- 8). Install the cartridge in the printer. Wait another 24 hours before using the printer. In the meantime, the ink will settle down at the bottom of the ink tank and the air pockets inside the cartridge will rise to the top.
