- 1). Contact the U.S. Census bureau for a listing of the Native American reservations nearest you. Contact the closest reservation directly and ask what sort of clothing donations they could use. For example, the reservation might have a preference for baby clothes or winter clothes.
- 2). Talk to your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors about your intentions to donate and offer to collect clothes or receive discarded clothes from them for a week.
- 3). Wash each piece of clothing and iron them properly. Inspect each piece for wear and tear, and discard any pieces with holes or stains.
- 4). Fold the clothes neatly into stacks. Line your box with tissue paper, wrapping the paper around the stacks of clothes. Include a note identifying yourself and providing an address for them to send you a receipt.
- 5). Seal the boxes securely with packing tape and address them to the appropriate reservation or reservations. Write clothing donations on the side of the box in marker.
